Srinagar April 16(KNB): The government seems to be unmoved about the grave complaints pouring in against one of the “influential” private school here in Srinagar city of the Kashmir.
The claims of LG government of redressing the grievances proved hoax when a group parents was found moving from pillar to post against an ‘influential’ private school in Raj Bagh Srinagar which according to them has adopted selective and capitalised system of admission policy.
They accused Presentation Convent School of violating the NEP 2020 norms.
Aggrieved parents alleged government of letting loose grip on Presentation Convent which according to them is hoodwinking poor parents in one or the other pretext.
They demand inquiry and strict action against the management of the school.
“This is not new thing about the Presentation convent, they are always violating rules in broad day light without caring rules and regulations” said an aggrieved parent.
“The school administration is selective in admission even admitting wards of white collar families which needs to investigated”
Pertinently the Presentation Convent School is in headlines from last many years for its alleged mismanagement and uncouth self framed admission policies.
Earlier in 2022 the school was in news when over 400 students were given corporeal punishment in open. Though the parents then conveyed the Director School Education who constituted the committee and order action vide his communication no DESK/GS/54/Misc/2022/2865 dated 21-06-2022 but with the surprise then commissioner Secretary BK Singh within two months besides knowing the seriousness of issue kept DESK’s order in abyence through his communication EDU-ptsch/83/2022_01 Dated 22-08-2022.
The commissioner’s move itself depicts the governomensts way of controlling such ‘influential’ school.
Insiders privy to KNB told that school administration always maintains ‘harmonious’ relation with the higher ups in education department which helps them to avert the government action.
“We know how deal with with aggrieved parents even we know who handle the officers at the helmets of affairs” an insider privy to KNB said.
Meanwhile aggrieved parents demand probe into the selective admission process solely framed by Presentation Convent School
“We demand equal opportunities, equal system of admissions” said an aggrieved parent.(KNB)
