Government forces defused IED in HMT Srinagar

Srinagar, Jan 13 (KNB): An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was found Saturday near HMT Srinagar resulting in fear psychosis among the residents and commuters in and out the adjoining areas. Police, 2RR of Army and Bomb disposal Squad reached to the spot and took away IED. Pertinently, last Saturday four policemen were killed militants belonging to Jaish detonated an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Gole market area of Sopore of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
According to the reports KNB, received here a patrol party of 44 BN CRPF recovered the IED on the highway around 4 am, following which traffic movement on the highway was suspended and the entire area was sealed by the forces. 
The IED weighing nearly five kilograms was later defused by a Bomb disposal squad without any damage, following which traffic movement was restored on the Srinagar-Baramulla highway. 
Meanwhile panic gripped in the area again after army resorted to aerial firing following a car that was asked to stop sped away.
