Srinagar, 27 September (KNB): In a significant administrative development, the General Administrative Department of the Government of Jammu and Kashmir has issued a directive mandating the transfer of officers and officials who have been stationed in the same department or organization for a period exceeding five years.
The official memorandum, bearing reference number O.M No.GADM0111/2023-09-GAD and dated September 26, 2023, was distributed to all administrative secretaries in the region. The directive, signed by Malik Suhail KAS, Deputy Secretary to the Government, calls for immediate action, urging administrative secretaries to reassign employees who have surpassed the five-year tenure mark within a single department or organization.
Administrative secretaries have been given a strict deadline of one week to submit comprehensive reports detailing the actions taken to adhere to this directive. These reports will undergo scrutiny by the competent authority, ensuring strict compliance.
The objective behind this move is to foster greater mobility and efficiency within the government workforce, encouraging the redistribution of fresh perspectives and expertise across various departments and organizations in Jammu and Kashmir. This initiative aims to curb stagnation in career growth and enhance the adaptability of the administrative team.
The implementation of this government order is poised to bring about substantial changes in the staffing landscape of government offices throughout Jammu and Kashmir. This strategic reshuffling is anticipated to pave the way for a more agile and responsive bureaucracy.-(KNB)
