Srinagar 10 July (KNB): In a relief to school children from the tormenting heat that has swept the Kashmir Valley, Government on Tuesday announced summer vacation from 19 July.
As per the order issued by Jammu and Kashmir government that “All government and recognized private schools in the valley and the winter zone of Jammu division shall remain closed from July 19 to JULY 29 and shall reopen on July 30(Monday).
It said the decision has been taken in view of the searing heat and predictions of temperature rising further.
However, The Summer capital witnessed the hottest day on Tuesday with mercury soaring to 29 degrees Celsius. (KNB)
