Fresh Western Disturbance to Bring Light Snowfall to J&K

Srinagar, Jan 14(KNB): A weak Western Disturbance (WD) is expected to hit Jammu and Kashmir in the next 48 hours, potentially triggering light snowfall in higher reaches, including Sonamarg and surrounding areas.

According to the Meteorological Centre department, the WD will affect the region between January 15 and 16. The weather is expected to remain dry until January 20, with another wet spell possible on January 20-21.

Meanwhile, night temperatures in the Kashmir valley remained below freezing point, with Srinagar recording a low of -4.2°C. Pahalgam was the coldest place, with a temperature of -7.8°C.

Other temperatures recorded in the valley include Gulmarg at -6.2°C, Kupwara at -4.7°C, Kokernag at -3.4°C, and Qazigund at -5.6°C.(KNB)
