Flood threat over, but showers still possible: MeT

 Srinagar 04 July (KNB): The MeT department on Friday announced that there was no threat of flash floods, as water started receding in parts of Kashmir Valley, which were in spate on Monday due to heavy rains.

Director Meteorological (MeT) department, Sonum Lotus said Kashmir News Bureau that “light showers will be scattered across the plain areas and mountains through this evening and tonight, but widespread rain isn’t expected.

Adding, there is possibility of further improvement in the weather conditions from tomorrow, so there is no flood threat in Kashmir Valley.

However, Irrigation officials said KNB the water level in the Ram munshi Bagh was 12.02 ft, Sangam 9.65 ft and Asham 9.00 at 3pm.

Earlier, inclement weather conditions had led to panic across the region as the conditions have brought back the horror of Kashmir Floods 2014. (KNB)
