Sopore 20 March (KNB): Several families were left homeless after the breaking out of the fire in North Kashmir’s Maharajpura area of Sopore on Saturday morning.
According to locals, the fire had started from a house in the wee hours of the morning, which later on engulfed the other adjacent houses of the area.
Locals alleged that the fire tenders took time to reach the spot. They said that the concerned department’s timely intervention would have saved the other houses. .
In an initial effort to control fire, a local said that the area’s boys tried to douse the flames by carrying water in buckets.
However, as per locals, the fire was later on brought under control by the firefighters, but after the gutting of several houses in the Maharajpura. (KNB)
