Srinagar, Sep 05: Former member Parliament Mir Muhammad Fayaz has decided to keep himself away from political engagements.
Mir, who was elected as Rajya Sabha member in 2015, posted on ‘X’, formerly twitter, that he has decided to keep himself away from political engagements.
“To all my people would like to inform that due to some family commitments I have decided to keep myself away from active political engagements. Thankful to all my people for their support,” Mir wrote on ‘X’.
Sources close to Mir disclosed that there is no questioning of him joining PDP.
“PDP is a dead horse and he cannot win on its ticket. The party is completely decimated in north Kashmir. The party cannot fetch more than 10000 votes in the region,” they said .
Mir had lost the 2014 Assembly election by a narrow margin to Peoples Conference, but finished at 4th position in the segment during 2019 Lok Sabha polls.
