Family of Bsc student detained over stone pelting appeals, governor for his release

Pulwama, Feb 06(KNB):A youth from Sirnoo village of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district was booked under Public Safety Act (PSA) for allegedly participating in stone-pelting protests during an Encounter in Sirnoo village.

As per the family, Suhail Ahmad wagay son of Gulam Muhammad wagay, a B.Sc nursing student at Sri Kalabyraveshwara Swami College of Nursing in Bangalore, was arrested by SOG one month back and was slapped with PSA and shifted to Kotbalwal jail Jammu.

Talking with KNB, a relative of Suhail said, “Suhail is an example of innocence in the whole village, he came back to his home for vacations and was preparing for SKIMS exams when he was detained by Indian Police.Everyone was shocked over his detention.He belong to a labour family and is the only son with two sisters.We want him get released so that he will support his family.”

A family member, his sister said, “Suhail is pursuing B.Sc nursing in Bangalore,he came back for vacations during which SKIMS advertised jobs for nursing aids, he filled the form and was preparing for exams.He was sleeping in his room when SOG arrested him late night around 1:00 am and later was slapped with psa and shifted to Kotbalwal jail.”

She further said, “Suhail has no criminal record, he is innocent, he is the only son of our family, our father is weak and old.
We appeal to Governor and Director General of Police(DGP) to release our brother on humanaterian ground, so that he will continue his education and will support family.”(KNB)
