Locals appreciate police for exposing sex racket
Srinagar 04 April(KNB): Srinagar Police on Monday busted a sex racket in Bagh-e-Mehtab area of central Kashmir Srinagar district.
According to a Police official, 2 persons were arrested after police got information about the prostitution racket in a rented accommodation at Bagh-e-Mehtab.
The arrested accused have been identified as Irshad Ahmad Bhat of Pampore, Mohd Shafi Hajam of Karimabad Pulwama.
Officials said, 2 sex workers from Srinagar and 2 customers were also detained for questioning.
After the news spread, netizens appreciated police for exposing the sex racket and appealed to house owners to report the police for verification if they are giving a house on rent.
Taking to news agency Kashmir News Bureau one of the locals from Bagh e Mehtab said, “We are very thankful to the police for their role of exposing the sex racket and we appeal to take strict action against the accused,”
“He said, the house owner should report to police for verification if they are giving the house on rent.”(KNB)
