Srinagar 10 June (KNB): The Excise enforcement teams headed by Excise & Taxation Officer, South, North and Central Excise Range destroyed illicit poppy crops spread over a total of 12 kanals and 18 marlas of land.
As per a statement issued to news agency Kashmir News Bureau, the poppy crop was destroyed on the directions of Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir and Excise Commissioner, J&K Government and under the close supervision of Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive) Kashmir, Tahir Ajaz.
Meanwhile, it was given out that the Illicit poppy crop spread on total of 803 kanals and 18 marlas of land has been destroyed in Kashmir valley till date and 12 numbers of FIRs stand lodged against the involved.
It was given out that the eradication drive shall continue till all illicit poppy/cannabis crops in Kashmir valley are destroyed. (KNB)
