Srinagar, March 15(KNB): Former National Conference(NC) leader Shabir Ahmad Mir also a prominent businessman from Tangmarg area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Friday.
Mir along with hundreds of his supporters joined the PDP in presence of its president Mehbooba Mufti at her Fairview residence in Gupkar, Srinagar.
Meanwhile, the regional parties have appealed the central government to hold the assembly elections in the state, the Election Commission of India has not announced the dates as of yet.
The delay in announcement of assembly elections has drawn severe criticism from all the mainstream parties in the state.(KNB)
