Kashmir 15 April (KNB): With light to moderate rain in plains and snow in the higher reaches; erratic weather across Jammu and Kashmir till the weekend, has been predicted by the Meteorological Department.
Talking to Kashmir News Bureau, the weatherman said that till the afternoon of 18th of April, intermittent showers of rain in plains is going to continue while witnessing cloudy sky.
He added that on 19th and 20th April, there will be slight change in weather.
“During these two days, we’ll witness improvement in weather,” Weatherman said, adding that rains will in plains and snow in higher reaches will take place again afterwards.
As per the officials, there will only be light to moderate rains in the plains but in the higher reaches, it is most likely that light-to-moderate snowfall during these days will take place.
Moreover, the famous ski resort, Gulmarg, has been witnessing quite the intensity in snowfall since the early morning hours today and in Srinagar, since yesterday, intermittent showers of rain took place, which resulted in the increase of night temperatures here.
Srinagar recorded 7.8 degrees Celsius, famous tourist destination Pahalgam recorded 2.9 degree celsius and Ski resort Gulmarg 0.5 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature on Thursday.
Jammu city recorded 24.5 degrees celsius, Leh town of Ladakh recorded minus 1.9 degrees celsius, Kargil minus 1.2 and Drass recorded minus 2.3 as the minimum temperature.(KNB)
