Sought rollback of increase in electric tariff
Srinagar 17 November (KNB): The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President Vikar Rasool Wani on thursday expressed serious concern over the frequent power curtailments in valley and demanded adequate supply of electricity during the winter season.
In a statement issued to news agency Kashmir News Bureau-KNB said that JKPCC President Vikar Rasool Wani hit out at the PDD for making different clarifications on account of electric supply.
‘Wnter is not a new thing in Kashmir,it requires availability of electricity to get respite from the winter, which has already begun in Kashmir valley’.said Vikar Rasool
Wani also slammed increase in electricity tariff and said on one hand Power Development Department is enacting different stories with regard to electricity shortage on the other it (PDD) has increased the tariff forcing the consumers to pay, which is not acceptable. Consumers should not be coerced rather the PDD should take further effective measures to ensure electricity during the winter, PCC President added.Statement added
