Srinagar 29 December (KNB): An encounter started between government forces and militants at Nowgam Shahabad, Dooru area in South Kashmir’s Anantnag on Wednesday evening, said police.
The encounter started after a cordon and search operation was carried out by a joint team of government forces following inputs about the presence of militants there.
However, one of the police personnel has been injured in the gunfight and has been shifted to hospital.
Police in this regard said that “Encounter has started at Nowgam Shahabad, Dooru area of Anantnag. In the initial firing, 01 police personnel got injured & was shifted to hospital. Police & SFs are on the job.” (KNB)
