Srinagar, Jan 19 (KNB): At least eight policemen were Friday injured after suspected militants hurled a grenade at Pulwama police station also resulting damage of several private vehicles.
Soon after the blast DIG South Kashmir tweeted that four policemen were injured, however, the toll of injured later mounted to eight.
The reports reaching KNB suggest that 2 civilians were also injured in the grenade attack.
“Four Policemen received injury in the grenade blast at Pulwama.All are stated to be stable.@JmuKmrPolice,” read the tweet.
All the injured policemen were shifted to hospital where there condition is said to be stable.
The paramilitary forces and police have cordoned off the area and search operation is going on.
Pertinently, four policemen were killed on earlier this month after militants detonated an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Gole market area of Sopore of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district. (KNB)
