Concept of an institute in the IT savvy era is a challenge that was taken as opportunity by Dr IT Group of Institutes since its inception in 2007 at Banur (near Chandigarh). Marching towards modernity is a tradition here. On education, Mahatma Gandhi said, “What is the use of that education which does not help me in my work”. The Institute subscribes fully to this observation and market requirement. Therefore, the Institute follows strict adherence to practical knowledge and hands-on practice in all courses that it offers to the students. The Institute is owned by a Trust. The Trustees, led by Dr (CA) Man Mohan Kamal, Managing Trustee, do not believe in profiteering; they strive only to sustain. With its experienced faculty under the effective and most dynamic leadership of Professor P. Parkash Arya, Managing Director, and excellent ambiance and unique architecture, the Institute is distinguished easily. The past placements in high net-worth companies have made ht Institute more popular and so, it has become one of the first choices for admission.
While a product is self-defining being tangible, teaching like service is not self-defining. Seeing is believing. Students visit us and find the teaching atmosphere very congenial and living in hostels friendly due to secular outlook of management and impartial treatment of teachers. The Institute thus receives a good number of Kashmir students in various courses. It has gained further popularity as the students studying here inculcate habit of thinking big. Creativity and innovative ideas are encouraged and tried by the student-community under the close mentoring of the faculty. The faculty members are appointed as Institutional Guardians (IGs) to construct and maintain student-profiles which are kept up to date and shared with the parents.
The Institute is well disposed to meeting obligations under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). It has, therefore, been on the forefront as far as commitment to the national priorities is concerned. The various courses presently offered are Post Graduate and Under-graduate in Management, Commerce, Hospitality and Computer application and 3-Year Engineering and computer Diploma Courses in Polytechnic College. A few more skill-based courses are being introduced from 2018-19. A good number of blue-chip and multinational industrial units visit the campus.
There is practice of holding annual get-together of our ‘Alumni’. At this forum, the illumni interact with our students and narrate their experiences in work-situations and inspire them. Dr IT Group has constituted a committee, ‘Naya Savera’ for helping the children of the weaker sections of society and deprived persons. . The Group has been helping the poor and, more particularly the women for imparting them work-related skills for economic self-sufficiency. Various student-centred activities are planned for each calendar year and students take part in them with zeal and enthusiasm. Diverse social awareness campaigns are undertaken as part of NSS activities. International Days are celebrated by the students, Water Day, Earth Day (as Environment Day) – are regularly held. On these days/occasions, informative and educative lectures are arranged and various creative activities are planned in which students take part with zeal and enthusiasm. The Institute has been organising Blood Donation Camp every year. We have started NCC for boys and girls.. Besides, special faculty teams are detailed for visiting schools to spread the awareness and message about entrepreneurship, career planning, and various government programmes for the needy, the poor and the physically challenged persons.
Infrastructure is excellent, ambiance is attractive and inviting, modern IT tools are used for imparting instruction. Students take interest in yoga and meditation, sports and spiritual activities (like Akhand Paath of Shri Guru Granth Sahib), all festivals and important historical/cultural events are celebrated with exclusive management by students. All-round personality development is one of the core areas on which great stress in placed. All activities and curriculum are enmeshed to provide holistic education with human values.. We plan to start ‘Entrepreneurship Incubation Centre’ in addition to ‘Guidance, Counselling and Placement Centre’ that is already in place, for the benefit of the students.
The Institute was established in 2007 by Shrimati Kaushalya Devi Memorial Charitable and Educational Trust (Registered). The trust is managed, directed and controlled by Dr. (CA) Man Mohan Kamal Mahajan, a visionary and philanthropist as service to society.
The Institute has been functioning under the effective and dynamic leadership of experienced Managing Director, Professor P. Parkash Arya (former Professor of UBS in Panjab University, Chandigarh) who is assisted by a team of Principals and experienced members of faculty, and responsive administrative staff. Mrs. Deepti Batra is the CEO who oversees the operating and planning aspects. Both the key persons take keen interest in the affairs of the Institute and encourage innovative approaches and methods to make teaching easier and pleasurable.
