Srinagar 03 Nov (KNB): Tariq Mir, the General Secretary of the Democratic Progressive Azad Party Baramulla, launched a scathing critique against the Indian National Congress following their defeat in three key states – Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh – to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
In a statement issued here, Mir’s comments came as a response to Congress’ claims of a strong foothold in Jammu and Kashmir despite their inability to secure victories in their own territories.
He attributed past successes of the Congress in the region to the leadership of Ghulam Nabi Azad, emphasizing Azad’s pivotal role in enabling the party to secure victories in previous elections.
Expressing disbelief over Congress’ claims of influence in Jammu and Kashmir, Mir highlighted the irony in their failure to retain power in the aforementioned states, let alone secure their own seats.
This criticism underscores the challenges facing the Congress party, which has been striving to maintain its political standing amid stiff competition from its rivals.
The recent electoral setbacks for Congress have raised questions about the party’s strategies and its ability to connect with voters across diverse regions of the country.
Mir’s pointed remarks serve as a reminder of the uphill battle Congress faces in maintaining its political relevance and credibility, especially in light of its losses in these crucial state elections.
The fallout from these defeats continues to shape the political landscape, prompting reflections on the efficacy of Congress’ policies and its capacity to regain lost ground in the ever-evolving political arena.-KNB
