DG Rural Sanitation Holds Review of AIP 2026–27, Sets Jan 25 Deadline


Directs ACPs to Fix Gaps in Asset Functionality, IMIS Reporting


Jammu 14 Jan(KNB): Director General Rural Sanitation J&K, Ms Anoo Malhotra (JKAS) today held a comprehensive review meeting to assess the Annual Implementation Plan (AIP) 2026–27, progress of ongoing SBM-G assets, and the status of functionality, geotagging, and IMIS reporting across the 20 districts of J&K.

Chairing the meeting, the Director General directed all districts to submit the reviewed AIP 2026–27 by January 25, 2026, after due discussion with the respective Deputy Commissioners. Emphasis was laid on preparing feasible land-backed and implementation-ready plans, with clear locational details and inclusion of all existing assets.

The Director General expressed concern over delays in functionality reporting and poor IMIS updates in several districts and instructed immediate corrective action.

She directed the Assistant Commissioners of Panchayat (ACPs) of all the districts to ensure accurate planning and approvals to expedite completion and functionality verification of assets already created and ensure time-bound geotagging of IHHLs, compost pits, soak pits and CSCs, resolve pending cases beyond 90 days on priority.

Taking a serious note of data entries on IMIS, particularly under Grey Water Management, the Director General said that strict action will be taken against the officials involved in incorrect reporting.

Regarding the new AIP 2026-27, districts were instructed that planning must strictly align with land availability. In cases where proposals are Nil/Zero, a certificate from the respective Deputy Commissioner will be mandatory, clearly justifying the same.
Concluding the meeting, the Director reiterated that timely execution, accurate reporting, and sustained functionality of assets are non-negotiable priorities under SBM-G, and district performance will be closely monitored in the coming months.(KNB)
