Srinagar, 25 August(KNB): DDC Chairperson Baramulla Safina Beigh, has written to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, requesting to be relieved of her charge as Chairperson of the Jammu and Kashmir Haj Committee.
In her letter, Beigh cited her increasing political responsibilities over the past few days, making it challenging for her to continue in the role. Despite her best efforts, she found it difficult to devote the necessary time and attention to the Haj Committee’s work.
Beigh expressed her gratitude to the administration for entrusting her with the responsibility and for their support during her tenure. However, she humbly requested the Lieutenant Governor to relieve her of the charge and appoint a suitable person to take over the role.
The development comes as Beigh’s political responsibilities have grown significantly since announcement of Assembly elections in J&K.(KNB)
