Srinagar 18 December (KNB): Srinagar recorded the coldest night of this winter season as temperature dipped to -6.0 degrees Celsius on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday in summer capital of J&K, as per Meteorological department.
On the previous night, Srinagar witnessed -3.8 degrees Celsius temperature, which dipped quite considerably after summer capital recorded this season’s coldest night as mercury plunged to -6.0 degrees Celsius on the last night.
Showing no respite in cold conditions, temperatures in world famous tourist resorts Pahalgam and Gulmarg were recorded at minus 8.3 degrees celsius and minus 8.5 degrees celsius respectively.
As per official data, temperatures in other parts of the valley were recorded as minus 6.0 degrees celsius in Qazigund, minus 5.1 degrees celsius in Kokernag and minus 7.0 degrees celsius in Konibal.
Meanwhile, temperatures recorded in Kupwara was minus 6.1 degrees celsius and minus 15.3 degrees Celsius in Leh.
Regarding the cold conditions, the Met official said that they are expecting further fall in temperature in the whole J&K in coming days. (KNB)
