Srinagar 19 June (KNB): Corporator Danish Bhat on Saturday won the Executive Committee Elections of Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) with highest votes.
Officials told news agency Kashmir News Bureau that 11 people had participated in the elections, which was held to fill up 4 vacant seats in the Executive Committee.
Out of the 11 who rose for the elections, 4 contestants Danish Bhat, Shafat Gafar Mir, Nazir Gilkar and Sheikh Mohammad Imran were elected for the vacant posts in the Executive Committee.
Moreover, Danish Bhat won with the highest number (i.e 17) of votes among the four participants.
Talking to KNB, he said, “I am highly grateful to honrable Mayor Mattu, Deputy Mayor SMC and all the corporators for showing immense faith in me.”
“I assure them that i’ll do my best for the betterment and development of the City,” he added. (KNB)
