Honoring Mahatma Gandhi’s Birth Anniversary, Alpha Coy Takes the Pledge for a Cleaner, Greener Future

Srinagar October 3(KNB)In an exemplary initiative merging security and environmental consciousness, the Alpha Company of the 44th Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) successfully concluded a special ‘Swachhata Pakhwada’ (Cleanliness Fortnight) from September 15th to September 30th. Tasked with guarding the Honorable High Court of Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh, this effort not only prioritized public safety but also championed environmental stewardship.

On the auspicious occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary, a special program was held on October 2nd, 2023. The event featured the participation of Second in Command of 44 BN, Sh. Partha Saratha Ghosh, and Company Commander, Assistant Commandant Aqif Ahmad, who administered the Swachhata pledge to the dedicated troops.

Sh. Partha Saratha Ghosh, sharing his insights, emphasized the significance of this campaign, underscoring the pivotal role it plays in fostering a cleaner and healthier environment. He noted, “Swachhata, or cleanliness, is not merely a duty but a commitment to a sustainable future. It is our collective responsibility to preserve the sanctity of our surroundings.”

The campaign concentrated on raising awareness about effective plastic waste management, a critical issue in today’s environmental landscape. The troops conducted a comprehensive cleanliness drive in and around the campus area, ensuring that every nook and cranny was meticulously attended to.
