Srinagar 29 May (KNB): In an ice-breaking development, CPI (M) senior leader and MLA Kulgam, Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami on Tuesday visited the residence of incarcerated pro-freedom leader, Shabir Ahmad Shah to congratulate his daughter, Sama Shabir for topping in Jammu and Kashmir CBSE class 12 results.
Pertinently, Sama has secured 97.8 percent marks in the 12th class examination. Her father Shabir Shah is currently lodged in Tihar jail.
Tarigami reached the residence of Shah where he met with Dr Bilquees, wife of Shah and congratulated her on the success of Sama Shabir.
MLA Kulgam said that Sama is the role model for the young students. “Even as Shabir Shah is languishing in Tihar jail, her daughter has topped the CBSE class 12 results,” he said.
Tarigami also said that the Government of India should release prisoners including Shabir Shah. (KNB)
