Srinagar 11 January (KNB): Jammu and Kashmir is set to receive the first allotment of Covid19 vaccine on 11th or 12th January to control the spread of Coronavirus which has claimed many lives till now across the UT.
As per officials, the first batch of vaccines was scheduled to reach here today, but due to the uneven weather conditions and closure of National Highway, it may reach tomorrow.
However, the first jabs of covid19 vaccine, which is going to start from January 16, will be given to the healthcare and frontline workers as the priority group selected by the central government.
Furthermore, the first phase of the vaccine will cover 30 crore people across India — 27 crore people aged above 50 years and others with co-morbidities and 3 crore healthcare and frontline workers. (KNB)
