Srinagar, March 26(KNB): Jammu and Kashmir Central Contractors Coordination Committee (J&KCCCC) aghast over Governor’s failure to release their bills of financial year 2018.

Various valley based contractors alleged that Governor administration has released only 15% of the payments for Kashmir in the month of March and made announcement of remaining pendings to be released in next financial year while as 85% of allocation of contractors of Jammu and Ladakh region has been cleared.

Terming the decision as “Discrimination ” they said that it is quite injustice and unfair to the valley based contractors and demand immediate release of pending dues.

While talking to Kashmir News Bureau, Mohammad Shafi Mir, a contractor said “Despite working with enthusiasm and tirelessly in developmental works in valley we are left in sufferings.Governor has released only 15% of the payments which is unfair and unacceptable to the contractors, we don’t want 15% we are appealing Governor Satya pal Malik to release a complete payment.”

Another Contractor, Bashir Zargar said “If the Governor administration can release 85% pending in other two divisions of the state, why only 15% for the valley based contractors.”

He further said “we are indebted in Bank loans, as it is the financial year and we have to pay huge amount of loans but due to the decision of government to freeze our pendings, we are not able to pay our loans on time, and appeal the chairman of Jammu and Kashmir to support us at our difficult time.”

Talking to Kashmir News Bureau on phone, Commissioner Secretary Khursheed Ahmad said “Not only Kashmir, even Jammu region is suffering from same issue as many bills are pending there also, we are looking in to the matter, and the issue will be redressed as soon as possible.”(KNB)
