Coaching center: Will challenge order, CCA to Parents

Srinagar 22 April (KNB): In view of the dictatorial order regarding closure of Coaching Institutes in Kashmir Division for 90 Days by Honorable Education Minister, the Coaching Centres Association has taken a stand to close Coaching Institutes on 23/04/2018 (Monday) as a mark of protest.

In a statement issued to Kashmir news bureau that Coaching Centres Association would like to convey to all parents and students the following points.

After getting a formal copy of Order, we would as an association approach the Honorable High Court and challenge the said order. We are of the opinion that the said order would not stand in eyes of Honorable High Court.

As the said order has been passed in context of Student protests, it is pertinent to mention here that all student protests over the last 2 months originated in Schools and not Coaching Institutes, still then an order which is contratarian in nature has been passed. The said information is in public domain and can be verified by various media reports.

The usage of terms ‘Distraction’ and ‘Human Rights Violations’ in regards to Coaching Centres by Education Minister is highly condemnable and reprehensible. We would like to believe that parents and students who have benefited over the years by contributions of Coaching Institutes would see through the trivial nature of statements.

The parents and students should be aware that such an order which constitutes a blanket ban is unheard of in any other city all across the country. Banning a wing of a recognized parallel education structure is utterly unconstitutional.

In all of this, we are extremely concerned about the future of students who have been made a scapegoat by the Government in achieving unknown objectives. Not to talk of preparing for Competitive Examinations like NEET & JEE, the students will not even be able to complete the Syllabus in relation to their Board Exams.

Lastly, we believe that Quality Education is recognized even through the darkest of times and this is one such instance. It would have been much better on part of the Government to emphasize on improving education standards in Schools rather than selective targeting of Coaching Institutes.

Further Course of action in this regard would be communicated to all concerned in due course of time.(KNB)
