CIC Operators in J&K Demand Fair Wages on International Labour Day

Srinagar, 01 May (KNB):– On the occasion of International Labour Day, the Community Information Centre (CIC) Operators of the Rural Development Department (RDD) in Jammu and Kashmir have made a public appeal for a salary increase. These operators, who were recruited in 2004 through a stringent selection process, are currently earning Rs. 333 per day, which is below the minimum wage.

The CIC Operators have highlighted the disparity between their pay and the minimum wage as a daily battle that affects their quality of life. They are urging the LG Administration to promptly address their salary concerns and to comply with the Minimum Wage Act, ensuring fair compensation for their years of service and qualifications.

On this Labour Day, their call for justice and equitable pay resonates with the spirit of the day, emphasizing the need for immediate attention to their plight.-KNB
