Jammu, Dec 21 (KNB): Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday recovered an optical sight believed to be of Chinese origin, used with an assault rifle, from the Sidra locality of Jammu amid ongoing security vigilance.
According to officials, the device was found during regular patrolling and inspection in a sensitive area close to key installations. The recovery immediately triggered a security response, with additional police and security personnel deployed to the spot.
Senior officers supervised the operation, and the surrounding area was sealed briefly to rule out any further threat. Authorities have since enhanced surveillance and frisking in the adjoining localities.
Police have taken the recovered equipment into custody and launched an investigation to trace its source and determine how it reached the area. Further developments are awaited.(KNB)
