Srinagar 12 Nov(KNB): Principal District and Session judge and Chairman Legal services Authority Mr Jawad Ahmad inaugurated 4th Lok adalat and E-rickshaws services in Srinagar.
In a statement issued to news agency Kashmir News Bureau-KNB that, Under the insightful directions and Patronage of The Chief Justice , Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey, and the radiant guidance of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Tashi Rabstan, Administrative Judge for District Srinagar, 4th National Lok Adalat was organized today on 12th of November, 2022 at District Court Complex Srinagar. The National Lok Adalat was inaugurated by Mr. Jawad Ahmad Principal District & Sessions Judge ,Chairman District Legal Services Authority Srinagar at 10.30 AM in District Court Complex Srinagar. The National Lok Adalat was kick started by Mr. Jawad Ahmad by inaugurating the Services of 13 e-rickshaws, which were flagged of by him in presence of all the judicial officers, S.Y. Naqaash Regional Transport Officer Kashmir, Senior Advocate Nazir Ahmad Ronga, lawyers, staff members, PLV’s and litigants present on spot. Speaking on the occasion he said that the e-rickshaws would serve as last root connectivity from Batamaloo to District Court considering the difficulties, faced by the people particularly, by female lawyers, female staff members and female litigants frequenting the court premises.
Chairman District Legal Services Authority Srinagar ensured the people on spot particularly females that the e-rickshaws would be available round the clock for the benefit of people particularly females on minimal fare. Further, he emphasized on the fact that the e-rickshaws would be environmental friendly and first of its kind on this route as an eco-friendly initiative.
All the courts had identified the cases beforehand for the Lok Adalat and same were placed before ten (10) different benches constituted by District Legal Services Authority Srinagar for settlement. Nevertheless, Bench No.1 comprised of Mr. Sandeep Gandotra Presiding Officer MACT Court Srinagar and Mr. Ajay Kumar City Judge Srinagar. Bench No.2 comprised of Ms. Masrat Roohi Principal Judge Family Court, Srinagar and Ms. Shayesta Nazir 3rd Additional Munsiff, Srinagar. Bench No. 3 comprised of Mr. Ajay Kumar Gupta 1st Additional District & Sessions Judge Srinagar and Mr. Manjit Singh Manhas Addl. Sessions Judge TADA/ POTA Court, Srinagar. Bench No. 4 comprised of Mr. Abdul Nasir Additional District & Session judge, Bank cases Srinagar and Ms. Bazila Bashir City Munsiff Srinagar. Bench No.5 comprised of Mr. Raja Mohammad Tasleem (Chief Judicial Magistrate Srinagar and Mr. Touseef Ahmad Magrey Sub Registrar, Srinagar. Bench No.6 comprised of Mr. Feroz Ahmad Khan Forest Magistrate, Srinagar and Mr. Shafeeq Ahmad Malik 1st Addl. Munsiff Srinagar. Bench No. 7 comprised of Ms. Tabasum Judge Small Causes, Srinagar and Ms. Fariqa Nazir P T & E Magistrate Srinagar. Bench No. 8 comprised of Mr. Jahangir Ahmad Bakshi Special Mobile Magistrate (Traffic) Srinagar and Mr. Shabir Ahmad Malik Additional Special mobile Magistrate, Srinagar. Bench No. 9 comprised of Ms. Mehreen Mushtaq Municipal Magistrate, Srinagar and Mr. Shahber Ayaz 2nd Addl. Munsiff Srinagar. Bench No. 10 comprised of Ms. Lubna Sultan Additional Special Mobile Magistrate (13th FC) Panthachowk, Srinagar and President Bar Association Panthachowk.
Moreover, the matters placed before the Benches included civil, criminal compoundable, cheque bounce, Bank matters, MACT, Matrimonial, Tenancy, Electricity and Pre-litigation matters.
Nonetheless, a total number of 43000 matters were taken up for their amicable settlement, out of which 40639matters were settled. Besides, an amount of Rs.2,55,00,000/-. was realized in total in the settlement. The settled matters included 11 MACT matters, in which an amount of Rs.39,00,000/- was awarded as compensation.The Lok Adalat was convened by Ms Fozia Paul, Sub Judge/Secretary DLSA Srinagar.
