Srinagar 19 August(KNB): In a heartfelt celebration of Raksha Bandhan, Surinder Ambardar, a prominent political activist and community leader, visited the Sweeper’s Colony in Kralkhud Habba Kadal to mark this auspicious festival. Raksha Bandhan, a traditional Hindu festival, symbolizes the sacred bond between brothers and sisters, with sisters tying a rakhi (a ceremonial thread) around their brothers’ wrists as a pledge of protection and love.
Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of inclusive and compassionate development, Ambardar’s visit to the Sweeper’s Colony highlighted the festival’s essence of unity and care across all segments of society. During the visit, young Kashmiri women from the community tied rakhis on Ambardar’s wrist, symbolizing their appreciation and recognition of his efforts to uplift and support marginalized communities.
Surinder Ambardar’s gesture was not just a personal celebration but also a testament to the enduring values of Raksha Bandhan, which transcend social and economic boundaries. By engaging with the residents of Sweeper’s Colony and participating in the festival, Ambardar emphasized the importance of community solidarity and mutual respect.
Ambardar expressed his gratitude and emphasized, “Raksha Bandhan is a beautiful reminder of the bond we share as a society. It is a privilege to celebrate this day with the residents of Kralkhud Habba Kadal. Inspired by our Prime Minister’s call for a more inclusive and compassionate India, today we reaffirm our commitment to ensuring that every individual, regardless of their background, feels valued and supported.”
