Srinagar 10 March (KNB): Jammu and Kashmir Small Scale Industries Development Corporation Limited (SICOP) has allegedly for almost a year been sitting on the payment to one of the contractors, who had completed the work on his given project in early last year assigned to him by the same company.
Bilal Ahmad, who was the contractor of the given project work, said that payment for his work from the Doodhpathri Development Authority (DDA) was deposited in the SICOP’s account last year, but he has been prevented from getting his dues and was being given excuses often when approached for taking his money.
“I had done chain link fencing near the hutment area at Doodhpathri besides others and had later received Credit Receipt number from SICOP which indicates that the money was remitted to the company for the work I had done, but not an iota of that amount has received by me,” said Ahmad.
Total payment of Rs 10,60,000 has been claimed by Bilal Ahmad, which the SICOP is sitting on and therefore abandoning him without any assurity from the company about the payment’s clearance which, according to Ahmad, belongs to him.
“I have owed some from my colleagues and have different other needs to meet, but the company is not paying any heed towards me. I am day by day heading to become an insolvent as my creditors are waiting to whom I have to give also,” said Bilal.
However, while talking to the SICOP’s Financial Advisor regarding it, he said that the matter would be looked into and tried to straddle the point by giving an explanation which was not matching to contractor Bilal Ahmad’s comments. (KNB)
