Brein Branch of J&K Bank Plagued by Staff Shortage, Consumers Suffer

Srinagar, July 3 (KNB): Locals from Brein Nishat claim that the Brein Branch of J&K Bank is plagued by a severe staff shortage, resulting in prolonged wait times, delays, and inconvenience for consumers. Routine transactions have become excruciatingly slow, with depositors waiting for hours to carry out simple tasks.

The branch’s overwhelmed staff is struggling to manage the workload, juggling multiple counters simultaneously. This has resulted in delayed services, including deposits, bill payments, and SMS alert activations. Deposits are taking up to 5-6 hours to reflect in accounts, causing frustration among consumers.

Local residents and business owners are urging the Lieutenant Governor to intervene and address the staff shortage, which has reached crisis proportions. The Brein Bazaar Shopkeepers Association led by president has appealed for immediate action to restore efficient banking services and alleviate consumer hardships.

The situation is untenable, and consumers are suffering immensely. The community is demanding prompt action to address the staff shortage and restore the branch’s functionality.
