Gulmarg 7 February (KNB): Several Bollywood celebrities attended the final day of Winter Festival and the unveiling ceremony of High Mast Indian flag at Gulmarg in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Famous Bollywood celebrities, Arbaaz Khan, Vidya Balan and Siddharth Roy Kapoor were present on the unveiling ceremony of High Mast Indian flag–going to be 100ft tall–applauded the efforts of the Indian Army for taking up the project, which is going to be completed till 15th April 2021.
The High Mast Indian Flag will be located at Dagger Villa in the world famous tourist resort Gulmarg and was inaugurated by GOC Dagger Division, stating the project cost at approximately 18 Lakhs.
Clerics of all the major religion prayed on the occasion and wished the forces best in achieving the aim of constructing the 100ft Tricolour flagpole, which is going to take place under the supervision of 15 Garhwal Rifles.
Furthermore, the celebrities headed towards the main venue of Winter Festival and witnessed a mega cultural extravaganza, which was full of adventure activities & the highlight were Skiing, Snow mobile, ATV race & Snow cycling.
Spell bound performances by renowned artists, such as Altmash Faridi, Aabid Aly, Shazia Bashir, Waqar Khan mesmerised Arbaaz, Vidya and Siddharth as well as the massive audience present on the event.
Moreover, display of local cuisines & handicrafts made the event more than perfect.
Pertinently, awards were given out by the celebrities to the top performers in different winter games competition.
On the occasion, Arbaaz Khan thanked Indian Army and appreciated their effort to uplift the talented youth of Kashmir.
Khan said that he has not visited Kashmir before and is here for the first time, “I feel unfortunate that I have not been here before, Kashmir is truly amazing,” he said, adding, “I will come again, this will be not my Last Visit to Kashmir.”
Addressing the crowd and media, Vidya Balan said that her parents had come for a honeymoon in Kashmir.
Balan said that she has been to almost every part of the world but never had she seen a place as beautiful as Kashmir.
She further went on to add more charm to the event with her famous dialogs and also blew kisses, expressing love for Kashmir & it’s people.
Meanwhile, Siddharth Roy Kapoor applauded the hospitality of the Army and the people, and said that Kashmir will be made a part of Bollywood again.
“I’m very confident that the film crews will make a big come back to Kashmir,” he said, adding that Kashmir has tremendous talent.
Chief Guest Major General Virendra Vats,Baramulla Division, congratulated everyone involved in the historic event & assured that Indian Army is committed towards endorsing the progress & prosperity of people of valley & will continue supporting the dreams & aspirations of all Kashmiri in all possible manner.
Pertinently, the event was organised after two years & aptly announced the re-opening of Kashmir to the world.
“Indian Army has always maintained a great connect with the local people & this is yet another instance of Army supporting the aspirations of Awaam for a future of hope, prosperity & peace in the valley,” official said, adding that the event is likely to provide a fillip to the tourism in the valley & support the Kashmiri people whose livelihood has been impacted adversely due to COVID pandemic.
