Kashmir 29 October (KNB): A BJP leader and two BJP workers have been shot dead by militant in Y K Pora area of Qazigund in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
Officials identified the trio as Fida Hussain Yatoo son of Ghulam Ahmad Yatoo resident of Y.K.Pora (BJP District Youth General secretary), Umer Rashid Beigh son of Abdul Rasheed Beigh resident of Sophat Devsar (BJP worker) and Umer Ramzan Hajam son of Mohd Ramzan resident of Y.K.Pora (BJP worker) at Eidgah Y.K.Pora.
Adding that the trio sustained bullet injuries and were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment, where they were declared as bought dead.
National Conference leader Omar Abdullah and PDP President Mehbooba Mufti condemned the attack.
Omar tweeted, “Terrible News from Kulgam District of South Kashmir. I unequivocally condemn the targeted killing of the 3 BJP workers in a terror attack. May Allah grant them place in Jannat and may their families find strength during this difficult time”.
Mehbooba tweeted, “Saddened to hear about the killing of 3 BJP workers in Kulgam. Condolence to their families. At the end of the day, it’s people of J&K who pay with their lives because of GOI’s ill thought out policies”.
Meanwhile Kashmir News Bureau reports confirmed that the area has been cordoned off and the search to nap the attackers is on. (KNB)
