Urges Islamic preachers and religious scholars to play critical role in addressing rising trend of crime in J&K
Srinagar 15 March (KNB): The jammu and Kashmir Peoples Conference (PC) Vice President and Media Head Syed Basharat Bukhari today condemned the heinous murder of a 30-year-old woman in Soibug and called on Islamic preachers, religious scholars, civil society and the government to address such rising trends.
In a statement issued to news agency Kashmir News Bureau-KNB Bukhari said “We condemn the gruesome murder of a young woman in the strongest possible terms. Our thoughts and condolences go out to the victim’s family and loved ones during this difficult time”, said Bukhari
Bukhari said that the tragic murder of the 30-year-old woman in Soibug underscores the need for immediate action to address the rising trend of crime in Kashmir and requested Islamic scholars and preachers to play a critical role to addressing rise of such trends.
Bukhari further said that “As scholars of Islam, they are in a unique position to guide people towards the path of righteousness. Islam emphasizes the importance of compassion, mercy, and justice towards all members of society. It is essential to educate people about these values and their significance in creating a righteous and just society”, he added.
He urged the civil society to take measures to prevent such heinous acts from occurring in the future.
“It is imperative to create a safe and secure environment for all citizens, especially women and children”, he added.
He further urged the authorities to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter and establish fast-track courts to ensure swift justice for the victim and her family.
“Fast-track courts can play a vital role in ensuring speedy justice for the victim. It is essential to ensure that such crimes are met with the full force of the law to deter others from committing similar acts”, statement added (KNB)
