Srinagar, Mar 22 (KNB): The all important road link from Bandipora to Srinagar is witnessing currently renovation at different places. But worryingly enough according to locals near Bazipora the excavation of Forest land carried for the road widening purpose is carried during night hours and that too no retaining wall is provided.
Local sources state that all this is being done in a hushed up manner without following the due process and Cabinet order.
When contacted , DFO Bandipora Range Abdul Hamid Bhat stated –“Actually few time back a deadly accident had happened on the spot so this excavation of the said spot containing some forest land and major portion state land had to be done in accordance with coordination of District Administration on war foot basis as a top humanitarian issue.”
The concerned official admitted that decision is contingent in nature, although concerns have been raised in this context. (KNB)
