Baramulla 30 July(KNB): The AWAM Mela was organised by the Indian Army at Army Goodwill School, Boniyar under aegis of Pir Panjal Brigade. The event was aimed at bringing the Army and Awam together.
The AWAM Mela comprised of various events like Football, Volleyball and also cultural activity like Kavi Sammelan.
Kavi Sammelan was organised at Army Goodwill School, Boniyar and was inaugurated by Major General Gulab Singh Rawat, General Officer Commanding Dagger Divison. Renowned poets of the region like Mr Nazar Boniyari, Mr Khaliq Pervaiz, Mr Athar Bashir, Mr Karan Singh Talib, Mr Jaffar Ali Asar, Mr Rashid Kanas Puri, Mr Bashir Chirag, Mr Pervaiz Manoos, Mr Ghulam Nabi ASI, Mr Feroz-ud-din Baig, Mr Aziz Dachnari, Mr Mohiuddin Sabir, Mr Taj-ud-din Taj and Mr Anzer Mohju graced the event with their soul-rendering poetry.
The event was huge success and was hailed by the local populace. Such events go a long way in fostering positive relations of AWAM and Army and pave the way for peace and prosperity in the valley.(KNB)
