Reasi 26 February (KNB): Indian Army and Jammu Kashmir Police (JKP) busted a militant hideout and recovered weapons, stores in the hinterlands of Reasi district of Jammu region.
In a statement issued to Kashmir News Bureau, officials said that on 26 February, input was received from reliable source regarding suspicious activity in the remote dense jungle of Rusuwali in Saldhar area in Reasi Distt.
“The joint operation between Indian Army and JKP enabled by local intelligence units led to successfully unearth this huge cache of weapons and war like stores,” officials stated.
Officials added, “These warlike stores were in a well concealed hideout in remote uninhabited forests of Rusuwali in South of Pir Panjal Ranges.”
Officials further stated that this successful operation has defeated yet another attempt by Pakistan based militants to destabilise the established peace process in Jammu Region.
Furthermore, officials stated the weapons and war like stores recovered as 01 AK 47 Assault Rifle, 01 RPG Launcher, 16 UBGL Grenades, 04 Chinese Grenades and 02 Radio sets.
“Recovery of these weapons, including a RPG Launcher has led to successfully thwarting of any future terrorist attacks in Jammu Region,” officials added.
In the statement, officials also said that in past few months, due to close coordination and synergy between Indian Army, JKP and intelligence agencies has led to several successful unearthing of war like stores and broken network of agents and Over Ground Workers sponsored by Pakistan to support militant network in Reasi Distt.
