Anantnag, Mar 10 (KNB):- The subscribers of private telecommunication companies like Airtel, Aircel, Reliance, Vodafone and Jio have complained about erratic calling and Internet services in a village in south Kashmir area of Anantnag district.

The subscribers of these private telecommunications from Kamad village in Anantnag town told to KNB that they are facing immense problems due to erratic calling and internet services from last several years in area.
The kamad village is about 6 kms away from main town in Anantnag were people still have to walk miles to make phone calls.

Residents state they are unable to contact nears and dears as every time while dialing the number, the network comes busy, switched off, number does not exist or shows not network coverage. As the call drops are frequent in the area due to poor network, they added.

“While the mobile telephone services taking the next leap in the rest of the country, subscribers of these private telecommunications of said village are grappling with poor connectivity, putting them to inconvenience,” Said Abdul Rasheed a local resident.

“We always visit miles away to make phone calls due to poor network in area, Airtel was the only hope but that too left us on the mercy of God. We can’t make phone calls in ground floors of our houses as we have necessarily to go on upper floors to make phone call to friends and relatives. Here is no network tower in area However we approached all these cellular companies for installation of mobile tower but nothing has been done till date. It seems that these cellular companies have vowed to keep their subscribers in trouble, Rasheed added.

Meanwhile when contact to the concerned telecommunications officials they were not available to comment on issue. (KNB)
