Amid Ramadan Ceasefire 10 injured in Bijbehara grenade blast

Anantnag, May 23 (KNB): Amid roars of Ramadan Ceasefire, at least ten civilians were injured in a grenade blast triggered by suspected militants at a Bijbehara Goriwan in south Kashmir area of Anantnag District on Wednesday.

Reports reaching KNB, suspected Militants hurled the grenade targeting a CRPF vehicle near the Goriwan Bijbehara of Anantnag District, but it missed the target and exploded on the road injuring 10 pedestrians among one woman this afternoon, sources said.

Four of the injured civilians were referred to Srinagar hospital for further treatment.

Government forces cordoned off the entire area immediately after the blast and a hunt has been launched to nab the militants involved in the incident, they said. No militant outfit has, so far, claimed responsibility for the grenade attack.

However police updated a status on twitter about the attack and yet didn’t any briefing about the incident. (KNB)
