Says it vindicated Er Rasheed’s stand
Srinagar 10 Sep: Welcoming NIA court’s order to give bail to 17 accused youth in lynching DSP Auyoob Pandit on 22 June 2017, AIP in statement has said that it has vindicated Er Rasheed’s stand when he has asked for release of innocents when the incident had taken place. Party Spokesperson Firdous Baba while refering to charge sheet against Er Rasheed said that one of charges against Er Rasheed was that he has asked for the release of the youth allegedly involved in DSP Auyoob Pandit’s lynching. The NIA charge sheet against Er Rasheed has said. “Investigation has revealed that accused Er Rasheed supported violent terrorist acts like lynching of DSP Auyoob Pandit by seeking release of persons arrested in the said case.” However now when NIA court itself has granted bail to 17 people on merits who were mostly youth, their release has proved that Er Rasheed was asking for release of innocent people. Spokesperson reiterated that while AIP has always condemned violence and has appealed for justice to DSP Auyoob Pandit, it is now proven that Er Rasheed has been targeted only for people’s rights and those of deprived people. Firdous Baba called NIA court’s granting bail to 17 youth as vindication of Er Rasheed’s stand and sought release of all innocents from jails and police stations.
