Srinagar, April 02 (KNB): Despite strict restrictions dozens joined today a protest march in Lal chowk Srinagar against South Kashmir killings carried out by AIP. Lead by Er Rasheed protesters were holding black flags and play cards and started march from Regal Chowk. Protesters were raising strong slogans against state terrorism , killings in Shopian and New Delhi’s draconian policies to crush the resistance movement. However a large contingent of security forces stopped the procession at Lal Chowk .
Following this the protesters sat on a Sit-in. Speaking to media persons on the occasion Er Rasheed accused New Delhi of always being in search of finding chances and excuses to kill armed and unarmed Kashmiris. Er Rasheed said, “New Delhi has lost the moral battle and its suppressive measures have miserably failed from 1989. But unfortunately New Delhi doesn’t want to listen truth. World body should wake up and stop genocide of Kashmiris and it is the moral and legal obligation of United Nations and other permanent members of UN to intervene and force New Delhi not to use its might and muscle power against Kashmiris who are paying for none of their faults but are seeking Right To Self Determination , as promised by United Nations”.
Er Rasheed appealed Indian TV channels to stop celebrating deaths of innocent Kashmiris and understand that Kashmiris are not criminals nor terrorists. He Said “’While mass agitations do surface from time to time in different parts of India but nowhere pellets and bullets are used against the masses. While property worth Billions has been destroyed during Dalit agitation today in various parts of India, but nowhere pellets or Bullets were used , thus again proving the bitter fact that Kashmiris are being treated in a different manner than the people of rest of India” Er Rasheed criticized those raising fingers towards resistance leadership for giving strike calls and said that then state terrorism is at its peak and Kashmiris are caged in a jail, hartal is the only civilized option to convey the community about the sufferings of J & K.
Er Rasheed appealed mainstream parties especially Mehbooba Mufti and Omar Abdullah to fulfill their much awaited duties towards people of J & K by asking New Delhi that peace can return only if Kashmir issue is resolved in its historical perspective. (KNB)
