Srinagar, December 18(KNB): Normalcy returned to most parts of Kashmir Valley today after three days of shutdown against the death of six civilians during clashes with security forces, in which three militants and one army personnel were also killed.
In most parts of the summer capital, shops and other business establishments were back to business with normal rush of shoppers today. Similar reports were received from other district headquarters of the valley.
The government and private offices resumed their routine functioning while as the public and private transport also resumed services.
Three Hizb militants and one army personnel were killed on Saturday in an encounter in Kharpora sirnoo village of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Seven civilians and dozens were injured near the encounter site during clashes with security forces.
Soon after the civilian killings, the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) called for three-day shutdown and mourning to protest against the civilian killings.
Meanwhile, the government forces had sealed off the area’s leading to the the army’s 15 corps headquarters from Sunday evening to foil the Badami Bagh chalo call by JRL on Monday.
While as, top resistance leaders Geelani, Mirwaiz and Malik were barred from marching towards the venue.(KNB)
