Srinagar 06 February (KNB): Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP) on Saturday elected its candidate Aftab Malik as Chairman of District Development Council Srinagar after securing 10 votes out of 13, an official said.
While Malik’s opposite contestant, Kaiser Ganai of NC secured only 3 votes out of the total 14 votes in which one was absent. As per official, Apni Party also secured the post of vice chairman DDC Srinagar.
While during the polls to DDC chairmanship, 13 DDC members were present out of 14 elected ones.
Pertinent to mention that DDC elections took place here first time after the abrogation of Article 370 on 5 August 2019. (KNB)
