Doda 6 April (KNB): Additional District Magistrate Doda (ADC), Kishori Lal Sharma on Tuesday seized JCB machines and Dumper truck used in illegal mining.
A statement issued to Kashmir News Bureau said that ADC along with Tehsildar, Shabir Ahmed Malik, while on inspecting Doda-Jodhpur Road found two JCB machines and one Dumper truck mining illegally near Jodhpur Nallah.
“The drivers of the JCBs and Dumper failed to produce any valid permission. The papers of the two JCBs and one Dumper were seized on the spot by ADM,” the statement read.
It is pertinent to mention here that district administration is continuously receiving complaints from locals of illegal mining by mining Mafia.
ADM has appealed people of Doda not to extract illegally and follow the law of the land.
Illegal mining disturb the ecological balance of the area and pose threat to eco-system, he said. (KNB)
