Srinagar 11 July(KNB): The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Srinagar has arrested Manzoor Ahmad Bhat, a Lineman-II in the Power Development Department (PDD) Sub Division Pattan, Baramulla, for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000.
The bribe was allegedly demanded for processing a fresh electricity connection to a residential house in Panzinara, Shalteng Srinagar.
According to the ACB, a complaint was received and verified, leading to the registration of a case (FIR No. 13/2025) under the Prevention of Corruption Act. A trap team was formed, and Bhat was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe. He was arrested on the spot, and the bribe money was recovered from his possession.
Further investigation is ongoing.(KNB)
