Srinagar, October 31(KNB): The Jammu and Kashmir Government has appointed five members to the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory Haj Committee for a period of three years, as per a notification issued by the Revenue Department on October 30.
According to the notification, issued under the Haj Committee Act, 2002, and the Haj Committee Rules, 2002, the appointments have been made by the Lieutenant Governor in supersession of earlier notifications on the subject.
The newly appointed members include Member of Parliament Mian Altaf Ahmad, MLA Javaid Iqbal, MLA Mir Mohammad Fayaz, Zafar Iqbal Manhas and Ahsan Ul Haq Mirza.
The notification further states that the Executive Officer of the Haj Committee will serve as an ex-officio member of the committee.
The appointments will remain in effect for three years from the date of publication of the notification in the Official Gazette.(KNB)
