New Delhi | September 4(KNB): President of the All Jammu and Kashmir Shia Association and JKPC General Secretary, Molvi Imran Ansari, met the Chief Justice of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Eje’i, during his official visit to New Delhi for the BRICS judicial leaders’ summit.
The meeting was also attended by Dr. Mohammad Fathali, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to India, and Dr. Abdul Majid Hakeem Ilahi, Representative of the Supreme Leader of Iran in India.
During the interaction, Molvi Imran Ansari conveyed his respect for the people of Iran and remembered the martyrs of Iran, including Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Hosseini Khamenei, as well as the innocent victims of the tragic Minab school incident, particularly the children. He offered prayers for the departed and expressed solidarity with their families.
Speaking about Kashmir’s historic relationship with Iran, Molvi Imran Ansari said that the connection between the two societies goes back centuries and is deeply rooted in civilization rather than politics alone. Persian language and literature, Islamic scholarship, poetry, architecture, art and traditional crafts have all played an important role in shaping Kashmir’s cultural and intellectual heritage. For generations, scholars and ideas travelled between these regions, creating a relationship of faith, knowledge and mutual respect.
Molvi Imran Ansari also spoke about the historic relationship between India and Iran, describing the two countries as ancient civilizations connected through centuries of cultural exchange, trade and people-to-people relations. He said that these historic ties remain a strong foundation for an even more meaningful partnership in the modern era.
He expressed hope that the renewed engagement between India and Iran would open a new chapter in bilateral relations, particularly in the fields of trade, connectivity, education, culture, science, technology and regional cooperation. He noted that the strengthening of contemporary relations between the two nations carries the potential to build upon their glorious shared past and create new opportunities for future generations.
Molvi Imran Ansari further emphasized the importance of unity, education, compassion and peaceful dialogue in the present times. Referring to the teachings of Karbala, he said that its message of faith, courage, justice, patience and moral strength continues to guide humanity.
The meeting reflected the longstanding bonds of respect and shared heritage between Kashmir and Iran and reaffirmed the importance of strengthening the historic friendship and growing partnership between India and the Islamic Republic of Iran.(KNB)
