Srinagar, Aug 7 (KNB):A suspicious Scorpio vehicle evaded a police naka at Chanderkote in Ramban district early Friday while travelling from Srinagar towards Jammu, prompting security forces to launch a massive search operation.
According to officials, the driver ignored repeated signals to stop at the checkpoint, following which police fired three rounds in an attempt to intercept the vehicle. However, the Scorpio sped away towards the Nashri area.
Officials said the vehicle was later recovered, but all its occupants had managed to flee from the spot.A joint search operation involving Police, CRPF and the Army has been launched in the area to trace the escaped individuals. Further details are awaited.(KNB)
